Blindfold play

Blindfold players can play any kind of chess or variant, they simply are not allowed to see the board while playing it. When your account is designated as a blind account, 'style 9' is set in the variables, and must not be changed. Style 9 shows a chessboard with the starting position, but it does not show pieces moving during the game. All moves are typed into the console of the home window, or in the command line located underneath the game board. The last two moves are shown in the console window. The time left for each player is also shown in the console window. See figure below for an example of what appears to the chess player playing blind:

Rules/Regulations for playing blind:

• Variable 'style 9' must always be set when playing blind.
• The finger notes of the blind handle must include the name of the regular handle.
• Sanctions against your blind account will also affect your regular account. Frequent abusers may lose the privilege of having a blind account.
• Blind accounts are not allowed to pair with their 'regular' handles when playing bughouse.
• While playing blind, do not use another handle to observe your blind game.
